no sound in piano roll ed.

ciao...I've hit some key command i think, the midi data in the piano roll editor is not sounding...the midi output button is engaged, but no sound. It was working and I tried to use a key command for something, obviously the wrong one...can't remember what I did...

What is the sound source? Software instrument?
Is the region greyed out? Or are the Midi notes greyed out? If so, you have probably muted them; that is easy to do, as it is the key 'M' that mutes all that is selected. Just select the muted regions/notes and hit M again to unmute.

Also, you could have soloed a track, muting all others. Are the little m buttons flashing?

No, nothing greyed out...tried muting and unmuting, everything's bright and colorful!

No, actually this was the first thing I tried, it acutally plays back fine, everything is audible. Just when you click on notes in the piano roll editor and try to edit them, move them, use velocity tool etc. you can't hear anything.

Hey Erik...yes the out light is on...it's weird I opened up another project and it worked fine...restarted and opened up the project with the problem and now it's working fine also...I've also had more little odd's and end's happening, like the quantizer automatically quantizes to 1/12 note no matter what I selected. I close, reopen and it's fine...strange, I wonder if Leopard will eliminate some of this stuff?? who knows

Hmm, I have Leopard on my G4, and it behaves as well if not better than Tiger. Also, the Coreaudio code has been improved in Leopard.
Leopard sounds better. Nothing dramatic though.
