I'm trying to get google contacts to sync with address book on my mac, but it's not working right. I check the box and everything, but nothing happens. I add new contacts and they aren't synced at all. Why isnt it syncing correctly?
Doesn't iSync only sync with externally attached devices, i.e. Palm etc? It did not work for me when trying to sync my address book with google contacts. It connects to google momentarily, but does not download any contacts before exiting
Hello,
I just got my first Mac, i am am having a similar problem syncing Google to Address Book. I have 10.5.7 but i do not have the Google option in my Address Book Preferences (Ver. 4.4.2). Any idea why or if i need a Address Book update how do i get it??
Thanks!!
ive done all the steps by setting things up in address book... but my sync icon says "sync disabled"... anyone work out how to fix this glitch.. the google sync basically does nothing?
I think this might be a problem with the 10.5.7 OS X update, because I had it syncing before when I had 10.5.6......hopefully Apple will come out with an update soon?
Ok... I am drinking the Google Kool-Aid... putting all my Contacts up on Gmail. Challenge... in Address Book I have Groups in which I export to Google everything, seems fine, from Google I export as vCards to import to Address Book and NO Groups. Any thoughts?
From there I got the same challenge of syncing Google Contacts to Address Book with the iPhone.
I am having this problem, too. Gmail is my mothership, all the contacts and groups are hosted there, I just want to pull it down to my iMac and my MacBook.
The process seems to work fine on the iMac, but I sync an iPod to that Mac almost every day. I do not sync a device to the MacBook, and it does not get Address Book updates. I feel strongly that the mobile device plays a role in the sync. I will try to sync an iPod to the MacBook, and see what happens. This is a valid test, but I am not willing to erase my iPod every other day just to keep my Address Book up to date on my laptop. This should work better.
I wish there was a tool for contacts like Calaboration. Calaboration makes my iCal sync both ways to Google, and works breath-takingly well.
