I inherited a 233 Mhz iMac; thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know what the access plate in the connection compartment (USB, power, ...) is for? It looks like it exposes a slot for a specific PCI card, but I can't find any documentation on PCI-card options.
Thanks again to the community!

Hunter, you should start a new thread with things like this. more people will see it and it keeps the threads more on topic.
The answer to your question though is that the 233 Mhz iMacs had a "mezzanine" slot. this was left over from he development of the computer and was never intended to be used. its kind of a modified PCI slot. Some enterprising companies made cards for it, the most notable being a voodoo II graphics card upgrade (others included a SCSI card), but you'd have a real hard time find any of them any more, as most of the companies are out of business, and no one has made a card for that slot in many, many years now.
