Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP?) in iPhone 3GS

I thought I would hear about the support for stereo bluetooth in the newest iPhones. If it was added, I would have expected that it was talked about in the Developer's Conference presentation. But since there was no mention of it, I'm thinking that it is a no go for now in the iPhone 3GS. Can anyone confirm or deny the the inclusion of this feature in the upcoming hardware?

You can buy the aux cable that supports the iPhone from an Apple store. It has nothing to do with the aux jack in your car, and everything to do with the recessed headphone jack on the original iPhones. It's a proprietary thing for apple to make more money. I bought one with my rebate check when they reduced the price after the original release and it works fine in standard aux jacks.

Mac OS3.0 does supposedly provide stereo Bluetooth via a car kit but it is not clear how to achieve this.
In my car I have a Mercedes Benz Bluetooth kit that allows hands free via bluetooth but when I play music via the iPod application I do not get to choose between the iPhone speaker and the car speaker. It plays from the iPhone speakers. I tried to 'trick it' by selecting MB during a phone call. This resulted in music being played via the car speakers simultaneously with the phone call. The sound was crappy - perhaps because it was mono only. When I hung up the phone call the music reverted to the iPhone speakers.
