I was wondering; can I reserve or buy the recently announced iPhone 3G S from an Apple store without setting up any kind of contract or anything? I would like to give it as a gift, but I dont know if I would have to go through the whole contract process and I dont know my friends personal info.
I also realize I could just buy a gift card, but I would rather go all out and buy the phone, which would make a better surprise.
It will be available without a contract in Belgium, Italy, Greece since the laws require it to be sold like that. Probably in Hong Kong as well as they have the 3G without contract. I think Norway too.
True, but you also have to return it to those countries if you need it serviced, and you'll have to go there to buy it. Probably will cost even more than $900
AT&T did state that those customers who do not qualify for discount pricing can purchase the iPhone at an un-subsidized price; furthermore, which does not add any additional contract length to their current contract. The prices were $499 & $599 (or 599 and 699 - I can't remember). Perhaps this information will help you.
