iTunes not matching up same Artist names

I just downloaded an album off iTunes and added it to my iPod, but in my iTunes library the artist names are scattered. They are all exactly the same starting with A, but some of the songs in the album are under A, and some of them are under L, etc. I cannot figure out what's making them scatter like this, please someone help!!
