Toolbar Mail button Gmail

Dear readers...

I am glad to finally see the safari 4 final edition. I adore it, en will leave it with that!.

I question remains,

How can I change the way the Toolbar Mail-button behaves?
I want it to open my Gmail account, in HTTP... is this possible?

Thanks!

Well..

You can Customize your Toolbar.
So I added a button to go to my mail. Its a little square button with an envelope icon.

But if I press the button, it gives me an error that I have no e-mail client installed. And indeed i have none. Because I always use Gmail, in HTTP (browserbased).

I was hoping to configure the button in that way it will open gmail...

What exactly are you talking about?

Try reading the question - it's quite clear exactly what he's talking about.

He wants the Email Page button (that he's added to the Safari toolbar) to use GMail, rather than open the Mac's default email client.

I've read that the Google Notifier lets you do this:

http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_mac.html

I've not tried it.
