Shutter Actuations

Does anyone know if there is any way of capturing the shutter actuations (to date) in the meta data??

Mac OS X (10.5.7)

not within aperture ... that i know of ...

and it is entirely dependent on the camera mfr ... canon for instance, you have to send it in to get a reliable count ... unless of course you started at zero and leave continuous numbering on ... for the life of me i can't figure out why people don't use this method ... simple and free and accurate ...

nikon puts it in the metadata for some (all???) cameras ... but you'd need something like EXIF Tool to read that number ...
