iPhone 2G - Manually Manage Music and Videos

Hi,

I'm experiencing some issues with an 8GB iPhone 2G that I have recently acquired.

I previously used an original 16GB iPod Touch which I manually managed between my MacBook at home and PC at work to playback songs and add Podcasts. Since starting to use my iPhone and selecting the 'Manually Manage Music and Videos' then clicking apply, I receive the following prompt:

This then erases the iPhone and allows me to upload and playback my media. Problem being when I go home or back to work I need to re-tick and apply the setting again, forcing my iPhone to produce the prompt above and forcing me to erase the iPhone if I want to add more music/videos.podcasts.

I'm using iTunes 8.2 on both platforms.

I don't remember having these issues setting up manually management with my iPod Touch.

If anyone can offer any help or guidance related to this issue then I would greatly appreciate it.

The iPhone is designed to sync with only 1 computer--that's why you're having issues. As far as I know, you can't sync with more than 1 computer.

As Lyssa says, iphone will sync/manually manage/access music from one computer at a time. You cannot put music from two computers on the iphone at the same time, nor can you use the iphone to transfer music - the music sync is one way -computer to iphone.

iPhone is designed not to manage music/video between two computers. No where did I read anything about this option not being available, until today, when I tried to do it, and googled.
Very frustrating, but, there are options.

Note: Even when manually managing, some content may only be available from one library at time. _*This includes all content on iPhone*_ and video content on iPods.
