i accidentally deleted ichat....

i need help! i got the new macbook for this past christmas and love video chatting on it. however, i accidentally deleted ichat and can not retrieve it back. i have tried using the macbook applications install dvd and nothing happens. i have also looked on other forums that suggest using "charlessoft" and other programs to get it back but i have had no luck. i have oovoo but i do not like using that because i prefer ichat. all help is much appreciated!

You should be doing it like this

The "Easy Way" is to Insert the Install Disk and Run the Additional Items folder and limit the choices in Options to iChat.
This User's Tip works for iChat 3 and 4 (you don't say what you have)

The so called "Hard Way" is by using Pacifist for Charlessoft

Whichever method you use you need to download and install the COMBO version of the Update level you are at installer as notes at the bottom of the User's Tip.

Hi,

How did you delete iChat ?
If you simply dragged the App from the Applications Folder to the Trash then the Easy Way and the COMBO Updater are the way to Go.

If you used something Like AppZapper then you will need to do the Hard Way and the Combo Updater as most likely the two support folders will also have been removed.
