Desktop and screensaver icon is missing in system preferences?
I cannot change the desktop preferences because the icon does not appear in system preferences. I have the ScreenEffectsPref.prefPane in the library, but this does not open when I double click it. If a right click the desktop and press change desktop background, nothing happens.
I am guessing there is some kind of problem with the local network because the connection is way too slow. The provider must have technical issues right now. We might finish this tomorrow. Is this fine with you? Sorry!
No problem. Are you sure you have enough free disk space to do this?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.
Wait for the download to finish. Never install or uninstall any applications while the computer is downloading software, whether it be updates/upgrades - or 3rd party software.
But definitely trash the anti virus software.
*"Hahaha sorry, new to Mac.. Is it too obvious? "*
I installed it. And the icon already appears, but now I cannot do any changes to the desktop and screensaver settings. The icon is named desktop&screensavereffectsPref, but when it opens it changes to Desktop and screensaver. It opens directly to the screensaver tab. I cannot change it to the desktop tab.
