Open Port 10080

Roxio tells me to run Streamer I need port 10080 open on my Airport Extreme. Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol is checked and I see Port Mapping under the Advanced tab but don't know what to enter. If it matters, I connect to Earthlink via PPPoE. Any help?

Hello Steven Raskin. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

I believe Streamer is NAT-PMP-aware so you shouldn't have to open any ports on the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) in order for it to work, but if that's not the case, you can manually open port 10080 by using the Port Mapping Setup Assistant in the AirPort Utility.

Since Streamer is not an option in the "Choose a service" box, you will have to enter the appropriate port in both the Public & Private TCP & UDP port boxes. So, in this case, you would enter the following:

o Public UDP Port(s): 10080
o Public TCP Port(s): 10080
o Private IP Address: <Enter the IP address of the Streamer host device on your local network.>
o Private UDP Port(s): 10080
o Private TCP Port(s): 10080

Sure, here you go ...

AEBSn - Default Host (DMZ) Setup
To setup a Default Host on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then, use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:

1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
o Reserve address by: MAC Address
o Click Continue.
o MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
o Click Done.

2. Setup a Default Host on the AEBSn.
Internet > NAT tab
o Enable default host at: <Enter the DHCP-Reserved IP address from step 1.>
o Click "Update"
