Reading a metadata file of the address book!!!

iSync doesn't sync the iPhone - it's only for non-Apple mobile phones.

You can't import those files back into Address Book.

How did you backup your contacts to your iDisk originally? If possible try restoring them using the reverse of whatever method you used to back them up.

Are your contacts stored in MobileMe still at http://www.me.com/contacts?

If you don't have a recent Time Machine or other backup you can restore your contacts from, try the following:

Navigate to *~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook*

Make a backup of, then delete the AddressBook.data file

Rename the AddressBook.data.previous file to AddressBook.data

Reload Address Book, and if it worked, make a backup of your contact data immediately using Address Book's built-in *File > Export > Address Book archive...* backup command.

If that didn't work, and you haven't made a recent backup, then I'm afraid you've most likely lost all your contacts.

If you are running time machine you can restore your home > Library > Application Support > AddressBook folder with a proir one that isn't messed up. Brought everything back fine here!
