802.11n and Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW not working together

I have a MacBook air connected to my time capsule with a "802.11n only (2.4 Ghz)" radio mode for the wireless connection.

I recently bought a Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW and I tried to connect it wirelessly to my time capsule with Epsons installation tool (Navi, Easy Install). Apparently the wireless connection does not support the pur 802.11n radio mode. I am not able to get a network connection during the final step of the installation process. Indeed, when I choose the 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible) radio mode, I am able to get a wireless connection.

Alternatively, I can keep the router in 802.11n radio mode, if I connect the printer with the router with a physical ethernet cable, but that is not exactly my idea of a WiFi printer. I prefer a wireless connection between the printer and the router, because it gives me more flexibility in my setup.

My question: Did I do something wrong with the Epson printer set up? Does it actually support the "n"-mode? Alternatively, how much do I suffer in time machine backup performance with the "802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)" mode?
