How do you change default search engine?

Want to use something other that Google. Is this not possible? Anyone know a terminal hack or command that might enable me to substitute bing or acid search or something else?

MacPro, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

No terminal command but you could try Glims. Lot's of great features and many search engine options.

The easiest way to is to download and install Glims:

http://www.machangout.com/

This lets you pick what search engine/s to default to.
