Sharing Slideshow on the Internet

I just finished putting together an slideshow in iPhoto that I would like to share on the internet with my friends and family. Unfortunately, I can only find how to export an album (which doesn't let me control the order of the slides) to the internet via mobile me. How can I put my slideshow on the internet. Thanks!

There are a couple of ways to add the photos to the web.

1 - if you want the slideshow with transition exactly like you've created it in iPhoto you'll have to export it as a Quicktime movie via the Export button at the bottom. Select one of the sizes available from the list.

Personally I've found the Medium size to be large enough. There are several ways to add the slideshow to an iWeb page that makes the page load without the movie having to load at the same time.

QT Movies via Export for Web in QT Player

If you don't want to create a web site to host the QT slideshow here's another way:

1 - export the movie at large size.
2 - import that movie into iMovie.
3 - export out of iMovie to MobileMe. You can export multiple sizes so that there will be one for every connection speed. The following is one: Adding a MMe Gallery from iMovie 09.

You could create a MobileMe gallery directly from iPhoto but the slideshow associated with it will not be the same as what you can do in iPhoto.

The bottom line is if you want the iPhoto slideshow to be online you'll have to export as a QT file and put that file online.

I'm running iLife 2008 on Mac OSX 10.5.7 and I don't have an export pane like shown in iPhoto...there is no slideshow tab on export photo pane in iPhoto... iPhoto only allows me to export slideshow as a QT file which I can't import into iMovie to share direct with Mobile Me...all my slideshows in Mobile Me are under photo albums and I would prefer they run under Movies...
Please help...

That's because you're not running iPhoto 09. Those are enhancements added in the last upgrade of iPhoto.

You don't need to import into iMovie in order to add the movies to an iWeb page. There are a couple of methods for adding a movie to a page that does not require the movie to load with the page, only when the play button is selected. You can see demos of them here:

QT Movies via Export for Web in QT Player

The first method is the easiest to implement. This demo page has 8 movies on it: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes.
