Stupid question about play/pause/rw/ff button icons

Hey everybody, I have a question. I just got this new Macbook Pro 15 inch 2.53ghz last week. My fiance has an iMac and a Macbook and I notice that her computer has icons when she presses the play/pause button and the >> and << buttons that pop up on the screen. Mine does not do this. I know it's a stupid little thing but is that normal for the new laptops or something? Thanks.

Do you mean that on your iMac that when you press those buttons it shows up with the track name if forwarded or backward of if paused it shows name of the song and the word paused??

If it is this, then this is not a native feature in Mac I believe, I have a piece of software which does, you can download it free off the internet, it is called 'Synergy'

I don't think hers does that. I mean it shows an icon on the screen like that of the button itself.
