Hey guys, I just purchased a 15" Macbook Pro yesterday, and I remember that there were a lot of problems with the sleep mode on the unibody laptops where the hard drives wouldn't turn off and all sorts of things like that. I read somewhere that the battery still drains pretty quickly, and that you should use deep sleep for sleeping if you need to not lose battery. I'm not too worried about the battery since I don't generally leave it in sleep for long between plugging it in. The only thing I was worried about is the hard drive turning off. I just wanted to make sure that the hard drive does indeed turn off during normal safe sleep, before I started throwing it in a bag while its asleep. I wait for the sleep indicator to start pulsing and whatnot, so I make sure its actually sleeping. I just would like to not destroy my new computer. Thanks a lot.
