Setting aside the fact that stereo Bluetooth on the iPhone will need some fixes...
I've tried 3 stereo headsets so far, although I haven't tested the microphones, so this is just for sound quality and comfort:
Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800: best overall (balance of sound quality and comfort). Solid materials (except for flimsy rubber hinge connecting the cover to the charging port in the right earpiece). Extremely minimalist design, true in-ear fit. Bass is a little exaggerated. No volume control (therefore, virtually unusable with iPhone right now, too loud). $130-199 new.
Motorola H-820: excellent sound quality, although maximum volume was much too low in my experience. Solid materials. Quite heavy, can become cumbersome (hurts the ears) after more than half an hour of use. Cushioning is comfortable but causes ears to sweat. $45-80 new.
Motorola S-9HD: excellent dynamic stereo (this is the HD version, not the regular S-9), but prominent hissing sound for me (can be ignored, depending on what's playing, but during silent or low volume moments it will be noticeable). Solid materials (except the default 'earbud' covers tended to fall out easily, though not the smaller alternate covers). Quasi-in-ear design, but for me the headset kept sliding down and pressing the 'earbud' down against the inside of my ear - had to be adjusted every 5-10 minutes to alleviate discomfort. $99 new.
I got the Plantronics 855 headset in the review and it works fine. Albeit not a good music quality and when the microwave is turned on, it interferes with it. Nonetheless it's good and professional looking.
I don't know if Jabra's BT3030 dogtag music player or Jabra BT8010 professional looking headphone player works with it, but the BT8010 has the same quality as the Plantronics one.
Only difference is that the Jabra BT8010 has an LCD status display and the Plantronics does not.

Now, according to Jawbone at
http://us.jawbone.com/knowledgebase.aspx search A2DP
While Jawbone does not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile, if your phone transmits audio through the voice channel (SCO), you may be able to establish a Bluetooth connection between the Jawbone and your mobile phone and play your audio file.

Have you tried deleting your Bluetooth profiles on the iPhone and resyncing it I was wondering?
Okay to be specific Apple BT implementation of AVRCP are not FULLY supported. So track control of Next/Back will not work on ANY BT Headset. So no matter which product you buy NONE will give you full AVRCP support.
