I have full signal strength at the top bar and when i open settings it sais i am connected to my network. But once i open anything requiring wifi it says unable to connect to the itunes store.

How did you reset your network? Did you restart your router or did you reset the network settings on the touch?

Reset your touch first - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Then reset your router by unplugging it and then plugging it back in.

Log back into your network and look at your IP settings. Depending on how your network is setup, you should be getting an IP address that does not start with 169.

If you still have the 169 address, tap the blue > next to your network name and tap Renew Lease.

There are a few other things you can try but for now, I want to here back from you.

Have you made any changes to your settings for your router or iPod?

Not before the problem occurred. Since then i have hit settings>general>reset>reset network settings.

I just installed the 3.0 OS and now it won't connect to my WiFi. I have reset the network settings on the ipod and entered the wireless key but it still won't connect. Anybody else have other ideas?

Please repost this as a new problem. You should not, when a new problem arises, add to an existing post.

Typically when IP's begin with 169 it's a self assigning IP. meaning it's only connecting to your router, and not going beyond that point.
It's likely you just need to contact the manufacture of your router and have them help you update the firmware for you router.
    It'll probably work after that.

I posted to this topic because my issue is related. We don't need to flood the forum when the possible solution is the same to his original issue.

The router is already at the latest firmware. Other devices are connecting to the wifi without a problem. It's only the ipod touch that isn't getting a real address from the router. When I hit renew lease under the network settings, it just keeps getting a 169 address or nothing at all.

What signal is your router set to?

Even if you think you haven't changed any settings on your router, check to see if it is broadcasting your SSID or not. If not, turn the broadcast ON and see if you can connect your Touch. This is a known issue, and hiding your SSID is of little value to your security anyway.
