Perhaps having it show up as something that can be selected is a bug.

I had no problem at all with Arabic. I was able to switch between English and Arabic in the same message. And, the Arabic keyboard is as nice as I have seen (I have had several computer programs).

So, your problem must be language specific.

Perhaps someone could write an app that uses the Macedonian keyboard specifically to unlock it in regions that don't support Macedonian. Much like Japanese apps were used to unlock the emoji keyboard in the United States.

It would be nice since I'm trying to learn Macedonian and switching between the Russian and English keyboards just to type a "j" is a bit of a pain. Not to mention that some of the letters are in the "wrong spot" compared to the Macedonian keyboard on my MacBook Pro.

I can't understand what you mean by that. Why would you use the English keyboard to type in Macedonian? If you think Russian does not have Ъ, that is incorrect.

Like I said...I'm learning Macedonian and I didn't know a "ь" is the same thing as a "j". For example: I was trying to translate the word "организациjа"

It's not, you are right. Please disregard my post. I had confused Macedonian with Bulgarian. Sorry.

PS Although it may not make any difference for text created on an iPhone, the Macedonian/Cyrillic Ј, ј is actually a different character on the computer than the English/Latin J, j. The former are represented by hex codes 408, 458 and the latter by 04A, 06A.

Come on, Apple - sort it out. It's really a terribly poor show.

Not correct. You find extra characters on iPhone keyboards when you hold down keys. Hard symbol is at Ь and yo is at E.
