Error Message: The Network Connection timed out/been reset

I'm trying to redeem a gift card and then download music, but I keep getting an error message that claims the network connection has timed out or the network has been reset. I've been trying things for hours and don't know what to do. Here's my diagnostics.

Ok, I don't believe the problem is on your end. iPhone OS 3.0 was release this morning. So the servers are probably backed up with people downloading the update. Give it sometime perhaps until tomorrow or this weekend when the new OS has been downloaded by most people.

I've been having the same problem with anything itunes and I am using Vista. This is real frustrating.

I am having the same problem I saw on another site that Itunes is getting jammed with the new download for new 3.0 software. It might take some time to get itunes to connect properly. John

"We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection timed out." ... etc etc.

I am fully connected to the internet. Certificate revocation is unchecked as suggested above, and the diagnostic tests tell me that I am fully connected.

I am trying to authorize my computer. I can't even SIGN IN to itunes!!!

what gives??

The language is not necessary. The Apple servers are overloaded. It'll clear up once most people have downloaded the 3.0 firmware. Chillax.

Are the servers still busy? I've been trying for 4 days to update to OS 3.0 with no luck. All I get at the end of the download, after waiting about 15 minutes, is The Network Connection timeout message. I am on iTunes 8.2. Is something stuck that needs to be reset?

I'm having the same prob. can brows itunes but can't login. I also can't access the mac software updater. My iphone can't DL anything when I'm using wireless but works fine using 3G. It seems to only have happend since I updated to 3.0 OS and 10.5.7 on my imac(which was done on the same day. Is it possible that its that new security on .7 and 3.0 don't support my router setting? its werid because I can surf the web, play games etc. but can't do anything apple related
