iPhone is now an iBrick

Did you do all the normal restarts. Powercycle the phone, restart itunes, try again.. Did you search what the error code is?

Which version of iPhone, which OS of computer. Give us some details so we can help out

I had this problem, kept trying and trying. About 10 attempts later I thought I'd try rebooting, but didnt help. I then rebooted, disabled my firewall/antivirus (Zonealarm) and then opened up iTunes. It restore first time.

Other people have tried restoring on another system, that seems to help too.

I spent a few hours trying to resolve the same error and this is what I ended up doing in order to fix this.
Create a new user on you computer> depending on OS, control panel, users, create new user.
Open iTunes on the new user. If iTunes is not available, go to apple.com and download iTunes fresh.
Plug the iPhone back in and click restore (Restore in this case is just going to install the 3.0 factory settings.)
You should now have a phone with 3.0 software but no contacts, music, nothing.
Log back into your main user.
Right click the iPhone under devices and click restore from backup, then select the most recent backup (hopefully this is very recent, but it was October for me)
Once complete, it your phone will have 3.0 and all of your recent settings, etc. Hope this helps.

if your on a mac - disable little snitch if you have it

if your on a pc - disable anti trojan software you might have

dont forget to re-enable them after the sync

3.0 *****. Frankly I'm utterly dissapointed with the software. I can't seem to get bluetooth to sync with my mac book pro. any ideas anyone? also the site says theres video in the 3.0 upgrade. where? i don't see it.

Make sure you're plugged directly into a USB2.0 port on your computer and not into a USB hub. Also temporarily disable any security software.

Your question has nothing to do with this thread... this is called hijacking.
