Delete " On My iPhone" calendars? iPhone 3.0

How in the world do you delete a formerly synced calendar from the iPhone?

With the new CalDAV support I want to replace my synced versions with remote versions, but the synced versions are lingering, even after un-checking the sync calendars option in iTunes.

spritemv, there are a few ways to solve your dilemma. Since the iPhone doesn't support the deletion of calendars from its UI (except for CalDAV and subscribed calendars since they're "accounts"), you'll need to find a way to replace the "On my iPhone" data. You can do this by either enabled a MobileMe account (You can create a trial account at http://www.apple.com/mobileme/) or create an empty calendar in Outlook, then in iTunes, use the "Sync only selected calendars" option, choosing your empty calendar. The secondary option won't remove the "On my iPhone" calendar group, but it will remove the existing data replacing it with an empty calendar.

If you use the MobileMe options, see my instructions (using Contacts as an example) in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2048666&tstart=0

Thanks for the advice ibaj. I created a separate, blank Outlook calendar via the directions on . However, my the second calendar is not showing up in the sync panel of iTunes. Under "Selected calendars:" I still have only the original "Calendar" and not my new "Blank Calendar." I thought maybe I needed to add an event for it to show up in iTunes, but that did not work either. Is there something special I need to do for it to show up?

I was having this problem, I not only had 2 calendars on my iphone despite only one on outlook, I could not clear the calendar even if I synced it with my blank outlook calendar (itunes still thinks outlook has 2 calendars eveb though I can only find one in outlook).

I set up a temporary mobile me account (may now make it permanent with the find my iphone feature) and, as described above, managed to delete all calendars on my iphone.

My work uses meeting maker which I am now going to try to sync, we'll see how that goes, in the meantime I will keep my mobile me calendar blank and turn off the mobile me syncing on order to preserve this option in the future.

Thanks to those who pointed out the mobile me solution, a little tedious to have to create an account but it only took about 10 minutes total.

I have 2 calendars under "On My iPhone". One is a Google Calendar CalDav copy.

The other is an empty calendar I use to try to fix the problem.

I have an exchange account from work.

The other is a Google CalDav Calendar.

i want to remove the duplication of the "On My iPhone" version of the Google calendar and the CalDav version of the same calendar...

Interesting...the name has chnaged from "On My Mac" to "On My iPhone"

...and the calendar entries on the Google CalDav are deletable and the same entries duplicated in the "On My iPhone" version of the Google CalDav calendar "Name[account@gmailblahblah]" are not deletable...

When I try to add a calendar entry there is no option to add to the Name[account@gmailblahblah] version of the CalDav calendar as it does not appear in the calendars available under the On My iPhone list.

After reading this thread, I decided to go exploring on my own and found a solution. I use iCal, and had deleted specific calendars on my Mac and found that they reappeared after syncing with my iPhone.

Solution:
With your phone connected to iTunes, select you iPhone under devices and go to the "Info" tab. At the very bottom of this page is an "Advanced" section. You can then choose to "Replace information on this iPhone:" --> Calendars. After selecting Calendars, sync your phone and your changes in iCal will take effect on your phone.
