Apps don't show up at all after 3.0 update

Hi all!
I update my iPhone to 3.0 last night and ran into a pretty big snafu- my apps don't show up on any screen of the springboard! Their preferences show up in settings and in settings>general>about, it shows that I have 52 apps or something installed, but they don't show up in search or on any screen - I only have two screens of sparsely populated apps. I performed a restore hoping the problem would go away but no dice - it's still there. What do I do??

I havent loaded 3.0 but I had a similar occurrence when doing a previous restore. First check that itunes is set to sync applications and you have synced. If that is OK, what I had to do in itunes was select Store > Authorise Computer (I think you then have to enter your itunes password). Then try the sync again.

Hope that works.

After installing 3.0 os resync your phone. After the sync you will notice at the bottom of the Iphone screen you will have atleast five page Icons that appear. It is most likely that the other applications you are not seeing will reside on those additional pages. You will have to move those icons and rearrange them in the order that works best for you. The way that you do this if you don't already know is to press and hold in the middle of the applications screen, the icons will begin bouncing after a couple of seconds. When they start bouncing you can rearrange your applications that suit your needs. One thing to think about is "Not to Worry"! When you performed the update a backup was created on the Iphone you can verify this in Itunes. If you see your current backup there go to town. You can always perform a reset and backup if something goes awry. Hope this helps.....

Dwain,

that's what I was hoping would happen but I only have 2 page icons and the search icon.
And also I did do a factory restore and reloaded from a backup last night - no dice. The apps are all properly set to sync (to address the first post belowmine) and are taking up space in my iPhone's memory, but it's just like they're hidden and inaccessible to me! Frustrating, to be sure.

Hey! I just found my icons... I feel stupid now.... noticed one of the posts on this thread and saw that they had multiple pages of icons... I had the same issue. I had blank pages inbetween my pages so I didn't think to keep looking for more blank pages. All my missing icons were on the 4 page, when I really only had 2 pages worth of icons. See if you have blank pages after your first page, hopefully you will find your icons!

Hi Ankit, I have the same problem. I'm also on the 3.0 update. My preferences Settings>General>About shows that I have 254 apps. My springboard has a total of 11 pages all full with apps displaying 176 apps only. I've been reading iPhone instructions but I couldn't find instructions that would say the iphone springboard limits display of apps. How will I find the missing apps on my springboard?
Or should I limit the number of installed apps on my iPhone?

This is what worked for me: All my apps were installed, but not showing up. I know this because when I went to the app store on my phone and tried to dl it again the install box was grayed out and it said "installed". So all my apps including my camera still weren't showing up. So I went to Settings > General > Home. Select Camera. Back out to desktop. Hit Home button. Voila! All my apps are back!
