Linking to Hidden Slides

In Powerpoint, I can link to hidden slides and create components of a presentation that are only revealed when I need them. For example, I might pose questions to students in the class using a visible slide and have extra questions on hidden slides that are only used if needed. I usually activate these hidden slides through hyperlinked buttons on the visible slide.

How do I do something similar with Keynote?

As you will be aware you can only create a link to a visible. Having done so, skipping a visible slide (the equivalent of hiding in PPT) you will be told the hyper-links will not work. So that's how KN rolls. There is no reason why you need slides to be skipped to not have them appear in you slideshow.

Just create a section at the end of your presentation with links to the these "extras". At the point in the "extras" section you wish to return to the main slides, insert an object to link back to correct place. This object may be the popular slide sized rectangle at front of stack and opacity %0. Really you can put these extra slides where-ever suits possibly even in another file.

Easy trick for linking to another file is make the linking object in the second file then cut and paste object to the first file.
