When installing the 3.0 OS last night I went to sleep because the install was taking too long. I forgot to plug-in my laptop so when I woke up the computer had shutdown and the iPhone will not turn on. When I hold the sleep/wake button it shows the apple icon like it is going to turn on and then it just shows a screen with the iTunes logo and the USB port plugging into it. I opened iTunes and plugged in the phone and iTunes does not recognize it. I even tried turning it off and then holding the home button as I plugged it into the computer. Still nothing. Can someone please help?!

I had this happen as well. I unplugged the iPhone, shut it down. Exit iTunes & relaunch it. Turn iPhone back on & all was fine.

Don't know which one of the two fixed my issue, but it works now.

I tried that last night and it did not work. Any other ideas?

Are you sure it won't turn on? I had a similar issue with the phone, until I noticed that the screen had darkened and I had to shine a flashlight on it in order to be able to do anything.

I suggest restarting your computer completely. I had to do this about eight times while just trying to install 3.0, that doesn't include how many times I tried to sync up my apps or music.

Good luck and be patient, you are going to need it.
