ical subscriptions error message "Cannot Subscribe"

I have followed all the directions on adding ical subscriptions to iPhone (Yes running 3.0) and I keep getting the following error messages even though I have cut and pasted the ical url into an email.

Cannot Subscribe
Could not subscribe to the calendar "lorenslocum" from "ical.mac.com"

Very perplexed....and any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.7), iPhone 3.0

Well I got one to work. It was a subscription to a CalDAV calendar for Weather Underground (daily weather report). It began with http:// instead of webcal://. Thought that might be the issue, so I changed it on one of my problem subscriptions...didn't work.

So back to square one on why this is happening. Now I've got a 2nd question...how do you get rid of subscribed calendars on your iPhone??

I am also having a problem subscribing. My webcal link is from an office online calendar and starts with something like this : "webcal://calendars.office.microsoft.com/pubcalstorage"

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the fact that I need to sign in to my windows live account to authenticate. Because I don't seem to have a problem subscribing to other random public calendars, just my own specific one which require sign in. ANy thoughts?

In getting the answer to my removal question from a poster, I discovered another method to add subscribed calendars, one that includes authentication settings.

If you go to your Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Accounts, click on the Add Account... option. Then select Other at the bottom. You'll next see a screen that includes Add Subscribed Calendar. Once you enter your subscribed calendar's address, the next screen will ask if you have any authentication information required.

Hopefully, this will allow you to get onto your calendar.
