iMac Snow Freezes During Startup
Finally, I decided it was time to just wipe it clean and start over. I would begin by reinstalling OS 9, and then reinstall the retail disk of Tiger that I have. However, I've run into a very mind-boggling problem. I clean slated it and then reinstalled OS 9 (I used the installation disk that came with my iMac for this).
Now, however, it won't start up at all. I get the nifty chime sound and the gray screen. My mouse shows up, but then disappears. The happy computer icon loads. . . and that's it. I never get to the "Mac OS 9" screen with the loading bar on the bottom. Just that happy computer icon. Well, he is NOT making me very happy. But he must be happy at how frustrated I am. I tried reinstalling OS 9, and still the same problem.
So, my question is, HELP! What's going on and how do I fix it?!
Thanks!
