Brother Printer via Ethernet

I have recently purchased a TB drive to use for archiving old files. I plugged it into the Time Capsule, restarted and it works perfectly albeit a little slow. I moved my printer from the USB to an Ethernet port. I have a Brother HL-5250DN. I turn the printer on, it gets an IP address. I found the printer in system preferences and it printed fine. The printer goes to sleep. Today I send a document to the printer and it won't print. I believe I changed the printer's IP address to a static address via online setup. Now I cannot find the printer in system prefs and it isn't printing. When I run the diagnostic printouts from the printer after it has slept it is stuck on initializing for it's IP address. I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in and it starts printing.

Is there any way to get it to work without having to unplug and plug the ethernet cable? Do you think it is the Time Capsule or the printer?

Also, Airport utility is fully up to date and my computer is also fully up to date.
