Find My iPhone - Offline - Location cannot be found

Seems it was working for my 3G, today got my 3GS and it says the phone is offline and cant be located.

Everything is enabled, MAPS GPS locates me fine, Compass locates fine.

Whats up?

I have the same problem.

The whole thing is lame though.

All you have to do if you find an iPhone is go to settings and turn the feature off. Then no find your phone or anything. Then all your data is available and it cannot be wiped. Have you seen the "30 Rock" where Liz looses her iPhone?

Or, someone clears the feature, does a restore from their computer, and then jailbreaks it. Sells it on Craigslist. The feature is too easily defeated.

And it doesn't work.

Checking today, it had my location from yesterday when I tested it. It said I was off-line now. NOT. But, the location was correct.

I tried the option to send the phone a message, it takes a lot longer than SMS, but works.

Having to set a password on the phone is a major inconvenience. While I agree it solves some security issues, it makes phone a nuisance to use. I'd rather the option to use remote wipe was only set from the Me account. You have to have account to use the feature anyway.

My favorite new 3.0 feature, the icon showing the phone is call forwarding mode.
