3GS has better sound

Compared to the 3G, my 3GS has clearer, higher resolution sound. It's probably due to a new, improved D to A converter. Also, I hear lower distortion from the 3GS's internal speaker, especially on sound files with a hot audio level. Nice!

If others have the same experience, this is wonderful news. This was the last concern for me before switching to the iPhone.

Yes, I agree, I was listening to music on my new 3G S earlier and it was startling how much more clear and detailed the music sounded. At least as compared to my original 2 year old iPhone.

Funny you say that, I was just thinking the opposite.
Seems like there is more distortion in the hardware speaker and in the headphones.
Only had a few minutes to check so will check again.
