Yes you can. But for any kind of iPhone whether 3G or 3GS, not matter what kind of corporate plan you are in. NO DISCOUNT for iPhones! Neither at Apple store/ATT Store. Hope it helps.

When the 3g came out, I waited in line for an 2 housr for the phone at an apple store and got the last one. When they started the purchase they said i could not buy it because it was a fan account. We called att from there, removed the fan account info, then after the purchase was complete i had to call them back and add fan back to the account. It would be easier to pre-order at an att store...

Huh?... I've been getting a roughly 15% monthly discount due to my wife's employer FAN number.

He's clearly referring to the service discount for his iphone plan, not a discount on the iphone hardware itself, which we know that no one outside of Apple and AT&T get.

Difficult to tell exactly what it is based on. It just shows up in the "other charges and adjustments" bucket every month, but it is roughly 15% of the total. I did have to pay the same as everyone else for the phones.

Yes you will get service discount, no hardware discount. For me, I get service discount and hardware discount, but not on iPhone.

There are two types of FANs:
1) Corporate Responsible (company pays the bills)
2) Individual Responsible (employee/family pays the bills)

For (1), you cannot buy in a storefront (unless special contract arrangements are made between AT&T and your company). For (2), you can buy at a storefront.
