New symbol on my iPhone 3G s screen

I have new symbol I have never seen before on my new 3GS screen that I haven't seen before.

It is beside the bluetooth symbol on the left and looks like a phone handset horizontally located over a bunch of dots.....anyone know what this is?

Hi,

I have the same symbol - TTY symbol appearing.

I have tried to go to settings>phone - but I don't have any option for turning TTY off. Using 32gb 3GS iPhone. I have looked through as many setting as I can think of, and no mention of TTY, or where I could turn it off.

Under settings>phone, I have that options of:
My Number
Call Forwarding
Call Waiting
Shoe My Caller ID
SIM PIN
SIM Applications

Nothing to do with TTY

On-line support refers specifically to settings>phone being the location for the iPhone, and the iPhone 3G - it doesn't specifically list the 3GS, so I am guessing it is done a different way?

Any suggestions - anyone??

On my 3GS running 3.0, the TTY setting is under Settings > Phone. There is an On/Off toggle for TTY immediately under Show My Caller ID.
