I just got my new iPhone 3GS yesterday. One thing is quite strange -- if I find someplace on the map, and tap on the directions icon, it gives me directions from my old address (I moved from there 9 months ago). I never entered that address anywhere that I know of. Does anyone know where the phone is getting this address from?

Here's more information, which might be relevant:

I set up the iPhone to connect to my local WiFi network (at home). I see, that by reading the documentation (always a good idea) on the iPhone that if it's connected to WiFi, it trys to get its location info from there. For the life of me I can't figure out where that might be. I've connected to the admin page of the WiFi network, and there's no place to enter an address or physical location. Any clues?

Did you use the same home WiFi after your move? A company called Skyhook Wireless maps WiFi and cell tower locations it scans. Apple uses this to help your GPS locate itself quicker. Here's how it works: http://www.skyhookwireless.com/inaction/apple.php

If you move and your WiFi hasn't been rescanned, you can submit a WiFi location update by going here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php

See Apple's take on this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3234

The GPS position will refine itself over time, but most people don't wait after the initial error.
