Hey, my ipod touch just recently ( within the hour ) needed charging, so i hooked it up to my pc. it showed the charging sign, so i just left it alone. 5 minutes later, i checked it, and it was at the same charge, and in the top right cornor of the screen where it shows the battery sign, it showed it with the little wire icon over it indicating it was at full charge, but the picture on the screen said it was still at 10%. my ipod is not charging. do i need to replace the battery? how can i fix this? ive tried turning it off and back on, but have not yet restored it.

My Touch sometimes shows the fullcharge indicator for a while, then corrects itself. Give it a while and see if it doesn't become green on the large battery level indicator and eventually charges all the way up. The upper right icon often shows bogus status on mine, yet my Touch works just fine.

how long did you leave it after the initial 5 minutes? if your iPod battery was run right down, it may take longer than usual to charge up.

No, im talking, IT WAS CONNNECTED FOR AN HOUR AND DIDNT CHARGE. it turned off while it was on my computer because i tried to restore it and it ran out of power. the ipod would only barely keep a 5-10% charge, enough to communicate with the computer. although, now i have fixed a problem and gotten my ipod charging. i found my MusicPower Duet ipod charger ( just a plug with 2 usb's, for ipods and zune charge ) and it charged the ipod perfectly, but i can not charge the ipod on my computer for somereason.

I had the exact same problem with my 2nd Gen iTouch when it was new. I let the battery get bery low and it would ot charge at all - I left it pluged in all night - still not charging. I performed a reset of the unit and it started to charge fine.

The ipod is not fixed, but it has a charge now, from being charged by my Music Power Duet power source power converter. it can not charge from the computer, and must be charged through this wall charger.

Is your iPod cable connected directly to the back of your computer, directly to the front of your computer, to a USB hub, or to a USB port on your keyboard?

If it's any but the former, try plugging it into the back of your computer.

This is ridiculous, I just replaced my Ipod touch because the battery wasn't charging, well guess what the new one has been plugged to my Mac all night (not sleeping) and the battery still is not showing all green only 3/4.

If you call Apple care is like you have leprosy, they won't talk to you, if you go to the sooo call Genius they won't make anytime cuz not enough rev from Ipod duh.

So what the **** are we suppose to do?sheeesh
