How to add refresh and stop buttons to toolbar

I want to add refresh and stop buttons (two, not one that switches) to the toolbar. I am not looking for appeasement. I won't settle for anything other than two new buttons. Anyone know of a plugin that can add these?

Various computers, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Safari 4

AFAIK Currently no way to customize the toolbar with stop/reload button. I suggest you select "Safari->Report bug to apple" and ask that they add these two options to "customize toolbar" back. It's driving me nuts too.

As to the question "why do you need buttons" from the other poster - this is why, for me at least:
If you put BACK/FORWARD/STOP/RELOAD all within a few pixels of each other, you can navigate a history, with a mouse with barely a movement of your hand. This makes it much easier one where you're debugging a form or some sort of randomizer on a web page.

It also makes no sense to break the navigation controls to either side of the toolbar. (What would have made a little more sense would be to allow us to move BACK/FORWARD over to the right, beside the new, STOP/RELOAD location but that's not possible now either.

My sentiments entirely. Working as you suggest means I can put my elbow on the desk and use my other hand to support my chin, most restful.

Graeme Rae:

Thanks for posting the link to the SIMBL plug-in to restore the RELOAD/STOP button to its proper place. The plug-in works fine under Leopard, not so fine under Snow Leopard, for everyone's information. It does add the button in the "Customize" dialogue, and one can drag it from there to the toolbar, but for some odd reason, Safari doesn't remember the button in the toolbar config on relaunch, at least not consistently. Sometimes it's there, sometimes not. No obvious way for English-speaking users to contact the plug-in developer. Guess we'll need to wait till it's updated on the d.hatena_ne.jp/canberland site or Apple comes to its senses on this one and at least gives back the option to users who don't want to mouse across the screen to reload a page.
