I have the MP620 canon. I used it fine with Tiger. Now that I upgraded to Leopard it says its unsupported. Is there a way around it? The printer is connected to a PC I never had problems printing wirelessly from my macbook.
I have never seen any mention of a Canon MP620 driver being unsupported on Leopard, certainly none of the versions I have tested in the past. Where do you see this message?
You mention that you have the printer connected to a PC. But then you also mention that you have never had problems printing wirelessly from your macbook. Given that this model has built-in wireless, then there is no need to have it connected via the Windows computer, unless you don't mean you have it physically connected via USB to the PC - just that you have it working from the PC.
If the device is still configured as a stand-alone wireless printer, then you need to use the More Printers > Canon IJ Network option to add the printer.
You may need to give a bit more information about your current network configuration so that we can best advise the correct procedure to add the printer on Leopard.
Thanks! the mac didnt recognize the printer because when i installed it I had 10.4 and the driver was for that. I knew this and i went to a canon website and downloaded a driver but it still didnt help..(thats when i posted the question) but i went to the website that was posted here and got the correct one and whala! it works perfect. thanks!!
I have MBP 2.4GHz running Leopard. I managed to get MP620 working wireless via Airport Extreme (new version). Dont ask how, i spent several hours and finally it started to work. Firewall disabled and AEBS set to b/g-compatible mode with WPA2 personla security. Just FYI for those who are wondering is it possible to get Wi-Fi-functionality to work with MP620, MBP and AEBS.
