When I connect my iMac to my new Sony LCD, I only get my background showing up on my HDTV, no movies, or other windows show up.
Technical Details:
I have connected my iMac (24" 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo) to a new 40" Sony HDTV (Bravia KDL40V5100). I used Apple's mini DVI to DVI (product:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9321G/B) connected to a standard DVI to HDMI cable (from PCMicrostore, product HDMI Male to DVI Male digital single link cable. 28 AWG / UL20276 / ROHS).
I have read a number of threads about changing resolution settings on the HDTV, and the iMac to synch the refresh rates, etc. I have tried to adjust things here and there, but cannot seem to get this to work. Again, I can see my iMac background photo on my HDTV, but cannot get any other images, or windows, movies, etc. to show up.
Any smart folks out there who have already accomplished connecting their iMac to an HDTV via miniDVI-DVI-HDMI? Perhaps you could provide some instructions to help me get this working?
Thank you!!
