Creating an iTunes account

I already have an Apple ID, and I want to create an iTunes account with it so I can download apps for my iPdo Touch. However, I have no credit/debit card, so it is not letting me create one. I tried following these instructions: http://www.winandmac.com/tips/create-free-itunes-account-no-matter-where-you-liv e-without-using-redeem-code/, but it will only let me select "none" if I want to create a new account, which I don't.

Is there a way of creating an account? At the moment I cannot download any apps.

What is the error message you get when you attempt to create the iTunes Store account with your existing Apple ID? Have you tried just logging into the iTunes Store using your current Apple ID without trying to create a new iTunes Store account? It may work as is and just ask you for billing information (it did for me with an Apple ID I just tested, anyway).

It says that the email is already in use.

It says:
+This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information.+

I click on the "Review" button and it takes me to the Store sign-up page, but does not give me an option to not attach a credit card to my account.
