Dashed Line in Drawing Mode?

Is there a way to create a dashed line in the AppleWorks drawing mode?

Thanks. That did it. I didn't know about the "line formatting" button (or the other two formatting buttons, for that matter). I knew about the pattern palette, but thought it only applied to area fills. I also discovered that I could apply a dashed attribute to an existing line by clicking on the "line formatting" button, selecting a line, and then using the pattern palette.

Maybe it's always been this way, but I find that I now always have one of the three lower-left "formatting buttons" selected. Is there a way to arrange for all three to be deselected, or shouldn't I worry about it?

Double-click the line drawing tool. Now, at the bottom of the toolbar, select the line box (just above the big 'T'. Now select the black-and-white pattern palette (the second one down). Choose a suitable pattern - I suggest starting with the third down in the first column. Now when you draw your line it will be dotted. You can try other patterns to get different effects.

AppleWorks has line styles. With Table tool create a one-cell table. Holding Shift key, select three of the sides and choose a line thickness of None. Select the remaining side and, from Table menu choose Line Styles, pick a style. There're two dashed line styles.

Alternatively, some will just type hyphens, M-dashes, whatever, in a text box.

A typed line in a text box is not a draw line. But it can be placed on a Draw page, styled to any size and spacing and stylized other ways and the box can be moved, rotated, etc.

I'm not recommending a particular solution for you. There is no regular Draw line "dashed line" in AppleWorks. Every solution is with duct tape. The only real dashed line style is with table cells.
