Sending GPS location via SMS?

I saw this feature in one of the product demos and even the 3.0 patch notes said sending SMS messages that include a GPS location was possible with the iPhone 3G and 3GS. Yet when I go to the Maps app and try to 'Share' a location, it only gives me the option to create an email. Why is this?

I saw this as well but i think its only going to be for the 3G-S. since 3GS supports compass and lat, long..... it will send those to the other iphone which can plug that info in using compass as well.

You can share Map locations but you need MMS, not simply by SMS, so you can expect the service when MMS becomes available via AT&T.

Until then you should still be able to email locations though (because there are both options here in the UK, so it sounds like the email option should still be available even if MMS isn't?).
