Push email from Earthlink?

I believe Earthlink is wrong.

I don't believe Push access is supported with a POP account.

TRY THIS, I HAVE EARTHLINK AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY !

Address: Full e-mail address
Description: Self-explanitory

INCOMING MAIL SERVER
Host Name: pop.earthlink.net
Username: Full earthlink e-mail
Password: your password

OUTGOING MAIL SERVER

That is not Push.

POP does not support Push.

Let me clarify...

on the accounts page,

under FETCH NEW DATA,

I have:

PUSH: ON
Every 15 Minutes

Under Advanced tab:

I chose my e-mail and checked of fetch.

No one is disputing that it is possible to access an Eartlink account with the iPhone's Mail client, but an Earthlink account can be accessed as a POP account only, and Push access is not supported with a POP account. An Earthlink account can be automatically checked for new messages - which is what the Fetch setting is for, or manually checked for new messages.

My setting have push on, everything works fine.

It doesn't matter if Push access is on globally for your iPhone, which is for more than email accounts that support push, which is not supported with a POP account, and an Earthlink account can be accessed as a POP account only with an email client. You do not have push access with your Earthlink account. Your Earthlink account is being automatically checked for new messages every 15 minutes, which is your Fetch setting.

The reason for my post is that many earthlink customers can't send on their iphone. It took me forever to figure it out (trial and error).

I hope my posts helps folks out.

You don't understand what Push is. Push has no set interval, mail get's pushed to your phone as soon as it's on the server, not fetched from your phone at some time interval. Your Fetch setting is what your Earthlink account is using.
