I would like to remove the photos i've placed on my ipod touch from my computer. When I go to add new photos from the computer to the ipod will the old ones be lost off of the ipod touch? Can i prevent this? please keep it simple and thanks for your help

this is the easiest way to manage photos on the iPod touch (using a PC rather than a Mac)

    1. create a folder (mine is called 'ipod photos')
    2. put all the photos you want on your ipod in that folder
    3. open itunes, plug in your ipod.
    4. on the overview screen, click the photos tab
    5. check the, 'sync photos from' box.
    6. browse to the folder you want to sync with
    7. hit sync

to add/delete photos, add/delete them from your 'ipod photos' folder, then sync your iPod.

oh hang on, just read your post again. yes, if your photos are set to sync, and they are no longer on your computer, they will be removed. trying to think of a way round this now....

    Anna.

That's the approach I use on my Mac as well.

fair enough, i'm not too familiar with Macs, so i didn't know if that method would work on one as well.

    I'm not sure I see a problem.

What ever you have in the folder you set up will be synced to the touch. To remove a photo from the touch, simply remove the photo from the folder (and place it some where else if you want to save it).

If you didn't keep a photo in the folder (and no longer have it saved somewhere) - it will be lost.

Thanks for trying Anna. The problem is the number of pictures on the computer is large and it is already slow and having "issues". Plus it is a work computer. I'm off for the summer soon and would like to clear the computer as it is about to be changed by IT anyway. If anyone knows please clue me in thanks!

I believe that we can not do anything. The photos that are not in sync folder, but the iPod will be lost. I do not understand the meaning of the thing but it is.
If I have to upload photos from my friend with another PC, all the pictures I uploaded the iPod will be lost ... That makes no sense ..!!!!

Just back the photos up to CD so you don't lose them.

I know. But it is not normal. I do not understand why we can not save and
manage photos normally without devising strange.
I certainly do not go around with a CD still in my pocket ...
I only say that the issue photos and synchronization is handled badly.

but it is so and we can not do anything ...
