Getting a new iPhone..old one died need help

Hi everyone,

My old iPhone died, so I am getting sent a new one by apple.
If I sync with my iTunes will I be able to restore the new phone from the back up of my old phone? Or will I just have to start from scratch with the new phone.

According to Apple I cant restore the back up to my new phone...that is so stupid. Is htere anyway I can?

I don't see why you can't do a restore from backup to the new phone.

According to Apple techs on the support line I cant...I dont see why not though. When my old phone shat itself the other night during the update, I had to restore to factory settings and when I connected my phone back up to iTunes it asked if I wanted to set up a new iPhone or restore from the back up.

The person on the line must've misunderstood what you were asking. A new phone should react the exact same way your old phone did when you did the restore.

HI just a quick answer to ur question,
yes u can restore as i have done it as well
if u have backup of ur previous Iphone
just simply attached ur new Iphone to ur i tunes
Sign in to ur account and restore it from previous dates
will work 100%

I havent done a manual back up of my phone though...
Just what has backed up during updates.
