Problems with external 24" Hyundai display (W240D)

Hi all, I've just bought my first Mac ever and so far I'm loving it, however I've seem to hit a snag in getting my existing 24" monitor to work. It is recognized, but I am unable to select the proper resolution for the monitor, which is 1920x1200. I've clicked on "Detect Displays", made sure mirroring was turned off, even made the external display my main display and closed my MBP to try "clamshell" mode, but I can't seem to get the external display set at it's maximum resolution. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with my LG L246wp-bn. It use to work fine, but when I upgraded to 10.5.7 the 1920 x 1200 display option disappeared!!! I have called technical support and they recognize the problem, but do not have a fix. They can only recommend that the next software update will have a fix. For the time being I am stuck with 1920 x 1080. ARRGHHH!!!!!
