Genius Playlist on iPhone

Anyone having a problem getting the Genius playlist to work on the iPhone.

I have the same music on iTunes as I do on my iPhone (750 tracks I think), I can get a playlist created on iTunes no problem, but on the iPhone with exactly the same tracks it is telling me it does not have enough information to create a list.

I have had 2 issues involving Genius (a great feature I use all the time) on my iPhone 3GS.

1. iTunes give me the message "This song does not have enough related songs to create a Genius Playlist" This is coming from a popular group "Third Eye Blind" from my 3,0000 song library that is all on my iPhone.

2. When I do get a song that can create a Genius Playlist, I cannot save it. I tried this on a number of Genius playlists, and it will never save them.

Is there an Apple person that may give us more insight?

I'm having Genius playlists not creating as well.

What's really interesting is I decided to selectively sync only my Genius Mixes (iTunes 9 + iPhone 3.1) to my iPhone. So ONLY songs that "go well together" are being synced to my iPhone. That's a total of 1625 songs (8.4 GB of music) that iTunes 9 thinks go well together in some fashion or another.

NONE of these songs will be created into a Genius Playlist! Puzzling. I know.

What's more is that any time I try to play a Genius Mix, the iPod app crashes, so I can't even enjoy the songs on my iPhone the way I want. Very disappointed.

Don't know if this is of any help, but I recently bought a song from the iTunes store (let's hypothetically call it "Africa," by Toto...the choir at my daughter's school was singing it a capella, and did a fine job BTW) and copied it to my iPod Touch. (I manage music manually, FWIW). When I tried to create a genius playlist from "Africa" I got the message "This song does not have enough related songs to create a Genius Playlist." Since I could create a Genius playlist on my computer from "Africa," I figured the problem was I had not first geniused the song on my computer before putting it on the Touch. I deleted it from the Touch, updated Genius on my computer, then copied the song back to the Touch. Voila, as we say on the Serengeti, it worked: Genius playlist on the Touch from "Africa." Lot of effort for a Toto song, I'll grant you, but there was a principle involved....

Same exact issue here, and actually started a topic in another forum about this exact issue. I've had my 32GB 3GS for 3 days and everything seems great except for this.

I have the additional problem that the Genius mixes don't work either. If I go to one, I get "unknown/unknown/unknown" in the play window and either it freezes and I have to click home to get out, or it forces me to home.

*****!

I'll try the manual music thing when I get home. I went to the Apple store today and they had no appointments available for hours and I couldn't wait (didn't know you had to make an appointment to talk to one of those guys). One of the guys in the store suggested I try a full system restore--which isn't what I'd hope for as I really just got this phone.
