Yes you can. Connect it to your computer, then click its icon in iTunes and click "update". It's a free update.

I did but after downloading the updated software(249MB) nothing happened. I did it three times but 😟

Any ideas?

Open iTunes. Connect iPhone. Select iPhone from within iTunes. In the Summary tab, you should get "Check for Update". What happens then?

Just it completes the download and nothing happens after that.

Interesting. When I clicked "Check for Update" I got a choice of "Download" or "Download and Install"

Probably has something to do with the fact that the iPhone is not yet available in Pakistan. http://www.apple.com/iphone/countries/

Hi

The last time when I updated my 2G iPhone to 2.0 it stopped working. Since the phone didn't come to Australia, it had to be fixed overseas. I want to update it to 3.0 so that I can have all the new applications. I'm not too sure whether I should update it or not because of what happened the last time I tried updating it. Any ideas/options?
