Return to menu after DVD has stopped

I have created my first movie in DVD Studio Pro (yipee!) The project only consists of a slideshow on the menu page and a button to play the movie. After the movie has finished I tried to press the 'menu' button on the remote to get back to the DVD menu page but this wasn't permitted. How do I get round this I would just like a button or action to get back to the DVD menu after the movie has finished.

Thanks

No the steps you are highlighting have been carried out and still not working. There aren't any other chapters on the film its a continuos 18mins movie with a Motion graphic to open and close. I have tried every possible menu, chapter, track etc in the "End Jump" section and all I get is the playhead moving back between 1 and 20 sec in the timeline. Can it be a bug?

Marc,
If you tried this in a new project and it still doesn't work then something may be wrong with the mepg2 file or DVDSP. Here is a link to two pdfs that show the settings for the Disc and Track just to be clear.

Check the mpeg file by playing it in DVDSP right in the viewer and see if something odd happens at the end. Also use the simulator in DVDSP. If the DVD plays through the video and reaches the end of the video asset but doesn't go back to the menu you can have the Info panel (on the simulator) open and this may show something helpful.

I was wondering if you were doing what you said (making a build and then looking at the build with DVD player) or actually burning a DVD and looking at it in a Set-top player or if you were looking at it some other place (like the simulator in DVDSP). If you just play the asset in the viewer window with the controls at the bottom (or by pressing the space bar) then the file will play to the end and just stop.

Now if instead you go to File> Simulate Disc or click the link with the icon at the top of the window that is labeled simulate, then DVDSP will open a window and play the DVD as you have authored it. And here the video track should return to the menu when finished.

No if I play in the viewer like you have suggested above the playhead gets to the end and then automatically jumps back a few seconds and stays there. That's been the problem right the way through the project irrespective of the "End Jump" selection (very strange!)

If I simulate by any means (menu, individual track etc) it does then indeed work as intended. It must be a viewer bug?

........and it's the first time I have used the application!

Not to worry Marc, that is how the program works. As first step in checking to see if your authoring is working you can use the simulation within DVDSP. The next step is to make a build and try the build out by using DVD player and navigating to the VIDEO_TS folder. The last step is to burn a disc and try it out on as many Computers and Set-top players as you would like.

The simple play feature in the viewer within DVDSP doesn't work with any of the Authoring commands.
