Q: PowerBook 5300c: upper PCMCIA slot reads but won't eject

Is there anything I can do to loosen up this slot? The bottom one works fine, but the top one reads the card but won't eject when "told" to.

Hi John,

This is the area where a RAM expansion card would be installed. The dimensions are important. You may want to check whether everything is OK (see, for instance, this document and also the pages 141-160 in the 030-6895 manual).

Thanks, Jan. I'm familiar with the inside of these computers, as I've owned several of them and have put in memory upgrades and video cards. This particular one, however, hasn't been opened up since I've had it. I'll check the memory card placement and report back.
